All Barros instrument are shipped in a sturdy instrument case. The instruments are equipped with D'Dario strings or Brazilian strings (Rouxinol for cavaquinho and mandolin). For instruments such as cavaquinho and mandolin we will send you a free set of Brazilian strings (Rouxinol) with your instrument.

Due to his increasing popularity as a builder of fine, handmade instruments in Brazil, Mr. Barros is accepting orders with a delivery deadline of about 30 to 45 days. Whenever he has an instrument in stock, ready for shipment, he will let BME know in advance so  customers abroad can learn about the availability of his instruments.

If you wish to place an order, BME requires a down payment of 50% of the price of the instrument, and the remaining 50% should be paid upon arrival of instrument from Brazil before shipping it to you. If the instrument is already in stock at BME's, full payment is required prior to shipping to buyer.

If you are thinking about a custom-made instrument, Mr. Barros will make the alterations provided that you send him detailed description, diagram and all info he needs to build your instrument as requested. No extra charge will be added to the standard prices, but customized instruments cannot be returned for a refund.

All standard instruments carry a certificate of originality stating that they were made by Brazilian luthier Antonio Maurício Barros with model description and date of completion. There is a seven day trial period for any instrument upon date of arrival at shipping address of buyer. If not satisfied with the product, instrument can be returned for a payment refund.  Instruments and case should be returned undamaged and in perfect condition. All instruments and case are inspected prior to shipping. Shipping expenses are paid by buyer both for delivery and return of instrument. We ship either Fedex or UPS, and buyer is entitled to choose which shipping method he/she chooses to have his/her instrument delivered. All instruments are insured before shipping, and should also be insured when returning to BME.

Workmanship Warranty: All Barros instruments carry a full one year guarantee against defects in building from the date of purchase. The warranty only covers defects as a direct result of building issues, it does not cover damage to the instrument as a result of mishandling, misuse, accident or changes to the original product.
